As Nigerians and Lagosians, in particular endure the lockdown fueled largely by the ravaging coronavirus scourge, there is hope that they will continue to enjoy access to livestock at affordable cost, thanks to Meathub, a meat-sharing platform.

While unveiling the platform recently, the Project Director, Linda Obi, in a statement said: “Meathub was established to bridge the gap between livestock lovers and access to clean, traceable, fit for consumption, and highly affordable quality livestock.”

For Lagosians who worry about hygiene in meat processing, Obi said: “This meat sharing platform allows individuals the opportunity to purchase and consume livestock that has been processed under the highest hygiene standards.”

The promoter further reiterated that Meathub, has as part of its objectives, to avail customers with farm fresh meat.

“This one-stop digitised meat sharing platform has products ranging from beef (bull) to chevon (goat meat) and chicken, all freshly slaughtered.”

Also, bearing in mind that Lagos is on lockdown, Meathub has devised a cost-effective doorstep delivery method to customers across the State, Obi stated.

She added: “This platform has been established to change the way we buy and handle meat.

“We aim to provide traceable, fit-for slaughter animals that are fit for consumption to all individuals across the State and beyond.”
