Gunmen kill nine in Plateau community

Gunmen have attacked Hurra community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing nine persons and setting 33 houses ablaze.

Mr Sunday Abdu, National President of Irigwe Development Association (IDA) told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday that the incident occurred Tuesday night.

Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Ibrahim Shittu confirmed the incident, adding that the commander of the task force, Maj. Gen. Chukwuemeka Okonkwo promised to send troops to the community.
