Customs officials of the Kano-Jigawa command have intercepted over 295 foreign rice neatly concealed in 351 bags of beans, estimated at over N12 million in Kano, The Nation gathered.
Customs spokesman lsa Danbaba said in a statement on Thursday that the impounded foreign rice has a duty paid value of N6,603,870.

Customs Area controller Nasr Ahmed said, “Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, and the subsequent measures put in place by the federal and state governments that brought about the lockdown and closure of entry points, the smugglers are still unrelenting.”
