Edo State on Thursday banned street trading as part of measures to enforce social distancing and check spread of coronavirus.
Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu announced this at a news conference in Benin.

He said the measure would restrict movement and ensure compliance to social distancing and other directives imposed by the government to contain spread of the virus.
Shaibu said the government would ensure total compliance to different directives aimed at checking spread of COVID-19.
