THE Ajia Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Adegoke, yesterday began the disbursement of cash palliative running into millions of naira to 120 widows and the poor in six local government areas of Oyo State.
He said he was embarking on the disbursement to cushion the effect of partial lockdown on the state following the global outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
Adegoke said the only way to ensure that the stay-at-home order was obeyed was to give palliatives to the citizens, especially the less privileged.
Adegoke, the chairman of Adegboyega Adegoke Resource Centre, which empowers youths through vocational training, said the disbursement of N5,000 to 120 widows is part of efforts to cushion the effect of COVID-19.
