A foremost indigenous social club, Eko Club, on Wednesday presented N5million cheque to the Lagos State Government.
The President, Dr. Ade Dosunmu, said the gesture was in recognition of the efforts of the government since the pandemic started, adding that it was the club’s widow’s mite.
He said that they were motivated to donate because the government alone could not carry the burden of the lockdown.
Dosunmu said the club was formed 46 years ago, noting that they were at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja on behalf of the grand patron, HRM Oba Riliwanu Babatunde Akiolu 1, Oba of Lagos, other patrons, elders and the entire members for the donation, to assist the government in cushioning the effect of the lockdown.
