Gunmen kidnap businessman, politician in Cross River

GUNMEN have defied the lockdown and abducted five persons in Rivers State.

A popular Igbo businessman, Odinka Odinka, was kidnapped from his shop last Friday while a female politician, Princess Filia Henshaw was abducted on Sunday night.

Odinka, who is in his 70s and an asthmatic patient, was kidnapped at his shop.

Police spokesperson Irene Ugbo confirmed the incidents, saying they  were on top of the situation.

“We are aware of the incidents and are working on it. We are investigating the incidents,” she said.
