Kaduna records first COVID-19 death

Kaduna State has recorded its first COVID-19 death.

The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Amina Mohammed-Baloni, disclosed this on Saturday.

The deceased, according to the Commissioner on her verified Twitter handle, is a retired Civil Servant who had concealed his recent travel to Kano.

According to her, the deceased who had underlying medical conditions had visited a public hospital and a private hospital.

According to her: “He was eventually admitted at the isolation centre with respiratory distress.”

“He died before his test result, which is positive was released.

“He is the first COVID-19 fatality in Kaduna State. His family has been informed of his demise and he has since been buried according to the burial protocol of the NCDC,” Dr. Baloni said.

She however said officials of the Ministry of Health were already decontaminating the two hospitals visited by the deceased.
