Restriction: Commissioner monitors compliance by restaurant operators

Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf on Thursday embarked on monitoring exercise of some eateries and restaurants in the state.

The exercise was carried out to examine the level of compliance with the directive of the state government on social distancing and restriction to take-away packs and orders only by eateries and restaurants operating in the state.

Governor Babajide  Sanwo-Olu had in his address prior to the gradual easing of state-wide lockdown order, reeled out new operating guidelines to operators of eateries and restaurants.

According to the Governor, fast food outlets and restaurants will be allowed to open between 9am and 7pm for take-out delivery services alone as in-dinning services will not be permitted.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Babatunde Olaide-Mesewaku and other senior officials of the Ministry visited about eight Eateries within Ikeja and its environs where they observed over 90 per cent compliance level with the government’s order.
