The Western Delta University (WDU) in Oghara, Delta State, has donated palliatives to widows, orphans and the elderly.
The Vice Chancellor of the Western Delta University, Prof. Otete Okobia, told reporters that the move was to cushion the economic effects of the COVID-19 on the beneficiaries.
She explained that since the outbreak of the pandemic, the institution had taken it upon itself to educate the public about hygiene and social distancing practices that would protect them from the virus.
The Vice-Chancellor said that officials of the university took the items directly to the beneficiaries’ homes in the spirit of physical distancing.
