FEMI Onifade, 48, who was accused of defiling two of his daughters aged between six and nine, has denied the charge.
Onifade, who was paraded before journalists on Monday, said his daughters could have been defiled by an outsider.
The suspect was said to have had carnal knowledge of his daughters on the night his wife was not at home.
He said he often quarelled with his wife, whom he sent away on the night the daughters were allegedly raped, but he denied raping the children, saying it is taboo among the Yoruba.

“The day we quarreled, my husband did not allow me to sleep in the house and did not let me take any of my daughters. The next day, neighbours called me to say one of my daughters cried all through the night. When I came back I noticed something in one’s private part.
The suspect would soon be charged to court, said the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, whose men arrested him.
