The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, has pledged that the Federal Government would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that banditry is stamped out in the country.
The minister was reacting to attacks in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Wednesday evening which led to the loss of about 60 lives and massive destruction of property.
Dingyadi expressed dismay over the attacks and sent his condolences to families and communities affected, as well as the government and people of Sokoto State.
He said the government remains committed to providing adequate security.

The minister also commended the Police in Zamfara State for securing the release of 12 abducted persons in Farar Kasa village.
In a statement yesterday in Abuja by his Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, the minister said the Federal Government remains committed to security in the North West.
“Government remains committed to the ongoing security operation in the North West, aimed at decimating all forms of criminalities in the region to emplace enduring peace, safety and security of lives and property.
“He noted that the operation has yielded positive results in neutralizing the bandits from their hideouts and assures of greater synergy among security agencies, state governments as well as other stakeholders to sustain ongoing war against violent crimes,” the statement read.
