THE Criterion, an association of Muslim women in business and professions, has said it felt the pains of mothers of the late Barakat Bello and Uwaila Omozuwa, who were gang-raped and murdered.
The women group condemned the act and called on the police to hasten the arrest of the perpetrators.
The Criterion National Amirah (President), Alhaja Fatymah Oyefeso, prayed to God to give the ladies’ parents the fortitude to bear the loss.

She said: “The ugly act is getting too many; drastic steps need to be taken to abate it. These are promising young ladies that had their lives truncated for no just cause.
“We feel the pains of the mothers of Barakah and Uwavera. It is only Allah that can console them,” she said.
The association called on the relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators of the crimes to justice.
