The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Igo Aguma, has boasted of the party bouncing back in the state.

Aguma was recently declared the authentic acting Chairman of the APC in Rivers State by the state High Court sitting in Port Harcourt with a faction of the party loyal to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, kicking against the judgement.

But Aguma in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Livingstone Wechie, said normal activities had returned to the party under his new leadership.

Wechie said the Caretaker Executive Committee held a maiden meeting presided over by Aguma at the weekend.

He said 20 statutory members of the committee were present at the meeting, which was held virtually, adding that members had fruitful deliberations.

Wechie said: “The Caretaker Committee Chairman, in his opening remarks made it clear that the primary focus of the committee is reconciliation and the conduct of congresses in line with the Supreme Court judgement.

“The executive committee mandated the Chairman to consult widely and come up with a comprehensive draft working paper on the way forward for the party that will be deliberated upon in the next executive committee meeting.

“The chairman is using this opportunity to call on all APC members in Rivers state to support the Caretaker Committee to reposition the party back to its winning ways.”
