President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of three illustrious Nigerians who lost their lives at various times and places.
In separate statements, all issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Buhari mourned Senator Bayo Osinowo, Dr Bello Katagum and Maj. Gen. Orho Obada (Rtd.)
Mourning the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Osinowo, who died on Monday, President Buhari sent condolences to the government and the people of Lagos State, as well as the Nigerian Senate over the death of the Senator.
Recalling his memory of Osinowo, who was Senate Committee Chairman on Industry, President Buhari said he was committed to the success of the administration.
“President Muhammadu Buhari offers deepest condolences to the family of Osinowo and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the death of Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, the Senator representing Lagos East senatorial district.
“As a member of the ninth senate and a key member of the All Progressives Congress, President Buhari recounts that Senator Osinowo as Chairman of Senate Committee on Industry and member of other committees, worked diligently to advance this administration’s objective of building a better and prosperous Nigeria.
“The President affirms that the Senator’s commitment to meet the needs of his community as a four-time member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, devotion to national development as well as insightful contributions at the floor of the Senate would be fondly remembered and missed.

“The President prays God Almighty to grant the family of Osinowo, friends and well-wishers the fortitude to bear the loss”, the statement said..
Mourning Dr Katagum, who founded Ni’ima Consultant Clinic, President Buhari sent his condolences to the people and government of Bauchi State, as well as the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
“President Muhammadu Buhari joins the Nigerian Medical Association, the Bauchi State government and indigenes in mourning Dr Bello Katagum, who founded the Ni’ima Consultant Clinic and had remained a strong pillar of health management in Bauchi State, and the country.
“The President condoles with the family of the deceased, and all his professional colleagues, while commending his sacrifices in providing health care to many, and serving as an inspiration to young doctors that he continued to mentor.
“President believes the contributions of the medical doctor will be remembered by posterity, particularly his personal attributes of kindness, warmth and charity, which was used extensively to support his election, 2015 and re-election, 2019.
“President Buhari prays that the almighty will grant Dr Katagum’s soul eternal rest”, the statement said.
Also mourning the departed Urhobo leader and elder statesman, Maj. Gen. Obada, who died on Sunday in Delta State, President Buhari commiserated with the Urhobo world, especially the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), affirming that he had been helpful to Nigeria over the years.
“President Muhammadu Buhari sends condolences to government and people of Delta State over the passing of former Federal Commissioner for Works, Maj. Gen. Orho Esio Obada (Rtd), extending sympathies to family and friends.
“The President commiserates with Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Council, and Urhobo Progress Union, urging all his associates to draw strength from the legacies that he left behind, most commendably his willingness to serve the country, and humanity.
“President Buhari notes, with sadness, that the former acting Chief of Air Staff served in many strategic positions in the military, and his wealth of experience had been helpful to the country for many years after his retirement.
“The President prays that the almighty God will accept the soul of the departed, and comfort his family”, the statement said.
