The leadership and the entire members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Diaspora have mourned the demise of Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, South Africa chapter, Dr Taiye Abe.
He was aged 65.
In a statement made available to The Nation, weekend, by the party’s Diaspora Secretary, APC Diaspora Chairmen Forum, Hon. Ayoola Lawal, condoled with the family of Dr Taiye Abe and all the members of APC South Africa, describing him as “a genuine and passionate leader who touched many lives both home and in the diaspora.”
“His leadership qualities, belief in a united and egalitarian Nigeria governed on a template of progressive ideas are worth emulating. Late Dr Abe was a great gentleman, a genuine and passionate leader who touched many lives both home and in the diaspora. He truly lived, actively participated, enormously contributed and conquered.”

“As we mourn the death of a colleague, late Dr, Taiye Abe, and as well remember late Festus Ogbeide, the former chairman of APC South Africa that Dr Taiye Abe filled his vacuum until his death last week, let us continue the struggle championed by our late chairmen and other leaders,” he stated.
Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari, in a statement earlier by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said he received the news of Abe’s death with sadness.
Buhari sympathised with the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, and urged them to take heart, praying that God will comfort them at this time of sorrow.
He recalled many meetings with the deceased on visits to South Africa and remarked that he was a man with an unmistakable love for Nigeria, and a deep commitment to the ideals of the APC.
