Ogun State Government on Thursday disclosed that there are 300 COVID-19 cases being managed under home care arrangement in a community while 400 other patients have also been discharged.
The Commissioner of Health in the State, Dr. Yomi Coker, who disclosed this, said the decision to resort to home care basis for the affected patients, was predicated on the realisation that they were found to be either asymptomatic or having mild diseases.
According to her, the arrangement also conformed to the directive of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) regarding asymptomatic patients or those with mild symptoms.

Coker who spoke to reporters in Oke-Mosan Governor’s Office, Abeokuta, a delegation of Lee Group of Companies led by the General Manager, Mr Philip Seng, donated millions of naira worth surgical facemasks to the Ogun State Government to assist the state in its battle against the novel COVID – 19 pandemic.
The items were received by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Oyedele – Salako.
The Health Commissioner noted that seven patients at its isolation centre presently and that they were cases requiring “oxygen or requiring ventilation.”
In her remarks, the Deputy Governor Noimot Oyedele-Salako, assured of the judicious use of the donated items in the state’s commitment to defeat the pandemic in Ogun and commended the company for its support.
Earlier, Mr Philip Seng said the items worth is about millions of dollars as each of them costs a dollar, stressing the donation formed part of the company’s contribution in the battle against COVID – 19.
