Kwara chief of staff buried

THE remains of the Chief of Staff to the Kwara State Governor, Aminu Adisa Logun, were yesterday interred at his GRA, Ilorin home.

Alhaji Logun, who died on Tuesday evening from COVID-19 complications, was buried in line with the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.

The burial was supervised by the funeral team of the COVID-19 Technical Committee, in accordance with extant protocols for Muslims.

The janazah prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin.

In a brief sermon, an Islamic scholar, Dr. Abubakar Imam-Aliagan, described the deceased as a silent achiever, a silent philanthropist and a promoter of unity in the family.

He prayed Allah to accept him as one of his servants and grant him Aljanah fridaus.

Dignitaries at the low-key funeral included Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Mamman Saba Jubril, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters Saadudeen Salaudeen, Special Adviser on Special Duties Yinka Aluko, Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs (Islamic) Zubair Dan Maigoro, Senior Advisor and Counsellor to the Governor Kale Belgore and the Director General, Bureau of Lands, Bolaji Edun.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has expressed shock over the demise of Alhaji Logun. In a statement in Abuja yesterday, the minister also commiserated with the bereaved family and the Ilorin Emirate.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State mourned Alhaji Logun.

The APC Chairman, Hon Bolarinwa, described his death assudden, sad and shocking.

In a condolence message, the PDP Chairman, Kola Shittu, commiserated with the bereaved family, the Ilorin Emirate and the government and people of Kwara State.
