Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain Adeyemi Benson has urged party to map out strategise aimed at correcting what it tagged “Arithmetic Confusion” during the last election.
According to him, this would help the party to win future elections. He said as they are about to participate in the Lagos East Senatorial District bye elections, the party must put its acts together.
He added that when the results of last election were compared, the ones signed by the PDP agents contradicted the ones produced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He explained that some of the ‘concocted’ results in some specific local government areas favoured the All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that some of the results outnumbered registered voters.

Benson emphasised that the entire arrangement was a total sham which didn’t reflect the true wishes of the people for their preferred elected candidate.
“Considering the poor ‘arithmetical’ scope of these manipulators, the total no of votes declared in some of these Local Government Areas were far above the total no of registered voters. This is not just absurd but very crazy!”
He urged PDP not to commit a great error in presenting another candidate for the bye election as it would put their chance of victory at risk.
He advised the party to consider the massive support Princess Abiodun Oyefusi received from the people of Lagos East Senatorial District as a sign that she is the voice of the grassroots.
“She won a few wards, won her own polling unit and numerous adjoining polling units around her ward in Ikorodu. Her support base cut across party lines. This is quite encouraging. She sincerely did very well
“For her brilliant showings during the 2109 elections, the PDP National Headquarters appreciated her via a letter written and tagged; Message of hope and congratulations, for making the PDP proud.
“They must learn to work as a team and ensure that wasteful spendings across board by all aspirants for the tasks ahead are prevented,’ Benson noted.
