Governor sends names of Amotekun chairman, commander to assembly

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has nominated Brig.-Gen. Isa Ademola (rtd) and Brig.-Gen. Bashir Abiodun Adewimbi (rtd) as Chairman, Governing Board and Corps Commander of Osun Security Network Agency (Amotekun), to the House of Assembly.

Speaker Timothy Owoeye made this known on Tuesday on the floor of the assembly.

He said the governor’s request is pursuant to sections 5(2) and 13(1) of the Osun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Establishment Law 2020.

The speaker, who read the governor’s letter upon resumption, directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their résumé to the assembly within 24 hours.

They are expected to appear at tomorrow’s plenary by 11am for screening.
