Lagos State Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources Mr. Joe Igbokwe has called on those trying to subvert the unity among the Ndigbo in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos to reframe from the act.
Addressing reporters on the division among Ndigbo in Lagos APC, he said divisive elements were trying to arrogate to themselves what they were not entitled to have.
He added that the unity among Ndigbo APC stalwarts could not be thwarted by some selfish individuals, who were bent on derailing the existing unity for selfish reasons.
Igbokwe said he would not have bothered to address the conference, but to put the issue in proper perspective, he was compelled to speak and set the record straight.
According to him, former Lagos State lawmaker, Jude Idimogu was parading himself as the Apex leader of Ndigbo APC in the state, a stance capable of brewing discord among its people and party supporters.

He advised those scheming to reap from where they did not sow, to double think before taking decisions that will impugn the image of APC within the Ndigbo and outside its brotherhood.
He said: “In their usual manners, they want to cause division, they started calling themselves apex leaders even such position do not exist. But I told my people who have been calling me to address the issue that there is nothing like apex leader.
“The Ndigbo in APC Lagos has it hierarchy of leadership and it is explicit. But for the benefit of our members, who have been calling on me, I make bold to say that those parading themselves as apex leader or leader, who strive for leadership position must go to the basics.
“The can’t wake up suddenly to become leaders, people must be in position to peruse their antecedents and see if they are qualified for what they tried to arrogant to themselves. We that are in that positions presently had paid our dues and sacrificed for the development of the party.”
Igbokwe noted that despite the hitches among its ranks, according to him, the opposition could not do much to scuttle the party from victories in elections.
“Do we still have Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, it has been emasculated and can never do any thing to stop the APC. we are also aware that some of these elements have one leg in the APC and the other leg in the PDP.”
