The aspiration of the former chairman of NBA Lagos branch, Mr. Alex Muoka to be the General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association ( NBA) in the next Executive Committee received a boost at the weekend.
A former NBA Legal Adviser Mr. Victor Nwaugo and former Secretaries of the Lagos branch of the NBA endorsed Muoka for the post of General Secretary.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Nwaugo said: “Alex Muoka has a combination of Olisa Agbakoba (SAN)’s democratic minded inclinations, Alao Bashorun’s bravery, Mr. Joseph Bodunrin Daudu (SAN)’s deep intellect, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN)’s courage, OCJ Okocha (SAN)’s expertise in statecraft and Chief Obegolu’s humility.
”Each time he spoke at NBA National Executive Committee meeting, I knew that he indeed merited his election as Chairman of Lagos.

“A branch with over 60 Senior Advocates of Nigeria and over six thousand members to manage.
“I have no doubt that when elected as General Secretary of NBA, he will set a record too difficult to be equalled by another. I endorse him,” Nwaugo stated
In their endorsement, former Secretaries of Lagos branch expressed support for Mr. Muoka who was a Secretary and later Chairman of the branch.
They said: ‘’We have come together to state that we trust Alex Muoka to deliver on his promises having managed the NBA Lagos Branch Secretariat as Secretary to the admiration of all members and dissatisfaction of none”
Alex Muoka is a former Secretary of the NBA Lagos Branch (2011-2013). He was also the Chairman of the Branch. All his successors as secretary of the NBA Lagos branch including Adebola Olarotimi Lema – 2014-2015; Stephen Onimisi Obajaja – 2015-2017; and Ikechukwu Uwanna – 2017-2019 signed the statement.
