Muslim group frowns at mosques’ closure

Muslim group identified as Lajnatud Daawah has registered its displeasure over the prolonged closure of mosques, ban of Eid prayer in proper congregation in many states.

In a communique signed by the leader of Lajnatud Daawah, Mallam Kasim Amin Umar after a critical meeting to address the negative effects of COVID-19 on religious and socio-economic activities, the group said the fundamental rights to choose, practice and preach any given religious persuasion as enshrined in the constitution is withheld by the state government.
