Nasarawa bye-election: Police deploy 491 personnel

Nasarawa State Police Command said it has deployed 491 Police personnel for the Nasarawa Central Constituency House of Assembly bye-election scheduled for today, Saturday 8th August, 2020.

The command in a press statement issued yesterday in Lafia signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,  Ranham Nansel,  said the police personnel will be supported by officers from Nigeria Army, Department of State Service, Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps.

“In view of the above, we want to assure the law abiding citizens in the state and particularly Nasarawa LGA that, the Police Command is ever ready to provide the much needed security for the conduct of the bye- election.”

Meanwhile, Police have been thoroughly lectured to be civil in the discharge of their duties and respect the fundamental human rights of the citizens.

“Consequently, we want to warn all those who may want to foment trouble during this election to steer clear or risk being arrested and decisively dealt with according to the provisions of the Law.”
