Ghost worker: Bauchi recovers N225.5m

BAUCHI State Government has recovered over N225 million from illegal payments to ghost workers, fake appointees, over-bloated pension payment among others within nine months of its workforce sanitation.

This is even as the government uncovered 312 deceased Local Government pensioners on its nominal payroll with a monthly value of N9.9 million.

This was contained in an implementation committee report of Bank Verification Number (BVN) Authentication in respect of the 41,448 civil servants on government’s payroll.
