Duo EDM artists Maze, Mxtreme out with new single

Duo Electronic Dance Music (EDM) artists Joshua Okunzuwa popularly known as Maze and Godfrey Imhanwa  popularly known as Mxtreme has dropped their debut single ‘Down South’ off their upcoming Extended Play(EP), as they also plan on having their maiden concert.

The duo artist both hail from Benin City in Edo state, Nigeria and have been producing professionally for five years.

According to them, they both started music production at the age of 13years old, when they first got the DAW software from a friend, “So we frequently produced apart and together as the years went by and after we were almost done with university we decided to take it professionally.We got into song production the same time we started music production, as we produce Afro edm as our primary genre, and other genre as secondary”.

Maze studied Computer Science in Benson Idahosa University while Mxtreme Studied Software Engineering in First City college University formerly known as KBU University.

Speaking about their creative process they said, “Our creative process is very flexible as inspiration or ideas can come in different forms randomly but the key factor is to always be around your creative devices to put ideas out quickly to life”.

On their perception of foreigners interest in African music, they noted that “As an Afro Edm Producer and performing Dj we are by nature cross cultural and lovers of mixed sound both African and outside influence and the interest of outsiders more of an opportunity than problematic for both sides”.

They however emphasized Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ song as their favorite remix.

Highlighting few artists they have worked with in the industry, they mentioned Crowd Kontroller, Ladipoe, Humble Smith, Iyanya, Chike, Solid keyz, billy the hit, Hustlin B and Toby Grey.

On what to expect the duo said “We are working on several EP’s and amazing content in the future with other great artists and we are excited for a global impact”.
