Obaseki, PDP console Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu over death of security aides, crash

Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have condoled with a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the party’s governorship candidate for September 19 election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, over the death of two policemen attached to the party’s campaign entourage in a crash.

Obaseki, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, commiserated with the families of the victims of the crash and prayed God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

He said: “I received the news of the accident with shock and commiserate with the former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election (Ize-Iyamu) over the very unfortunate incident involving their security aides and top chieftains of the party in the campaign team.

“While we pray for strength for the families of the deceased persons, we also pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured and are receiving treatment.”

Obaseki is governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with Ize-Iyamu, a former Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), as his main challenger.

The PDP, in a statement by Edo State Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, sympathised with families of the victims.

It prayed God grant members of the families of the deceased policemen the fortitude to bear the losses and the victims eternal rest.
