that the agency is poised to halt the menace of illegal refuse dumping and warned that the agency is in full gear to halt indiscriminate refuse disposal. He said: ” We must remind the general public, that major enforcement operations, will necessarily give with Mobile Court, for instant trial and sanctions for unrelenting violators of the sanctity of our environment. It is important, however, to stress here, that we can only achieve remarkable feats, with formidable cooperation and support of all stakeholders and residents.”
Odumboni enjoined the ambassadors, to sell the LAWMA brand through their several professional avenues, for excellent results.
He named the ambassadors as Tobi Bakere, Bolanle Ninalow, Olatayo Amokade, Foluke Daramola, Olunatoyin Bayegun, Adenike Hamzah, and Onyebuchi Ojieh.
He encouraged Lagosians to cease patronizing Cart Pushers but rather patronize the PSP operators who are licensed by the government to cart waste. He stressed the need to dispose of waste properly as according to him a single-use plastic takes about 450 years to degrade. Alternatively, if it is properly disposed of it can be converted to wealth in finished products such as paving stones, chairs, etc. Furthermore, he pleaded with Lagosians to let them earn how to sort their waste from source.

In his remarks, LAWMA Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Olohunwa Tijani noted the disconnect in the last dispensation on waste management and people’s apathy to paying for waste disposal and responsibly disposing waste and not dump waste into the drains.
Responding one of the ambassadors, Bolanle Ninalow said their goal is aligned with the of the state government yo collective make Lagos cleaner, adding that with over 4 million followers on their social media handles they can positively influence a character change in Lagosians that will encourage responsible waste disposal.
Also, Foluke Daramola said she and her colleagues will bring creativity and better initiative to waste management. She encouraged the public to dispose of their waste safely and avoid indiscriminate waste disposal.
