Ogun Culture Commissioner, others to engage Nigerian youth on tourism development

The Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Oluwatoyin Emmanuel Taiwo, is among leading industry experts that would engage youths on the potential in tourism and how it can provide employment opportunities for individuals during an event scheduled for September 30.

The event, which will feature other leading tourism enthusiasts, will be held via Zoom in order to reduce the risk of exposing participants to contracting Coronavirus.

Chief Executive Officer of Awori Tourism Board, organisers of the event, Prince Femi Fadina, in a statement said other speakers for the event include Senior Special Assistant to Ekiti State governor on Tourism, Mr Wale Ojo Lanre, and Chairman, National Mirror Committee on Tourism and Related Services and former Director-General, NIHOTOUR, Chief (Mrs) Chika Balogun.

Fadina, who re-echoed Taiwo’s comments that tourism had the potential of creating employment opportunities for young and old Nigerians, said the event will also call government’s attention to the various tourist sites in the country and why they must be preserved to promote Nigeria’s rich culture especially as the demand for the diversification of the national economy grows.
