The World Bank has donated $20 million to support small and medium scale organisations (SMEs) in Katsina State under COVID-19 social intervention programme.
Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Social Interventions Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, who stated this to The Nation during an interview in his office in Katsina, said part of the requirements before the disbursement of the fund is for the recipient SMEs to have complete documentation of their work.

He added that 40 per cent of the fund will be for grant and the World Bank will pay the balance from when COVID-19 started till date.
The governor’s aide lauded the increasing level of awareness among the people due to opportunities provided by the advent of Corona pandemic, which he described as a blessing in disguise.
He urged the people to embrace skill acquisition and training, with particular emphasis on entrepreneurship development, to expose themselves to better management of funds, record keeping and business opportunities.
