Unknown gunmen over the weekend abducted a classroom teacher in Auyo Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The abductee, Abdullahi Sani, 35, son of a lawmaker, was said to be a teacher in an Arabic secondary school in Birniwa.

Sources said heavily armed gunmen stormed the teacher’s residence at Shagari Quarters and abducted him.

Police spokesperson Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the incident yesterday, saying police have started investigating.

The police said the incident happened around 2:00 a.m midnight at Hadejia town, and  the gunmen went away with the victim’s phone.
