THE Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State on Monday opened investigation into the circumstances of the death of an official of Directorate of State Service (DSS) Seyi Adebowale, who was admitted to the hospital after being shot by an operative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Adebowale was shot in Kuta, Ayedire Local Government Area in the palace of the traditional ruler after the inauguration of a bridge built by the Nigerian Army.
The bridge was flagged off by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai on September 15, 2020.

Adebowale was first rushed to General Hospital in Iwo before being referred to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo where he was operated twice before he eventually died.
Adebowale’s colleagues accused the hospital of not giving him proper care, and demanded an autopsy.
Spokesman of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Ayodele Adeyemo, in a statement on Sunday evening, said that the institution has set up a panel to determine how the security man was looked after before his death.
“The hospital made frantic efforts to save the life of the officer and was operated twice in order to ameliorate the complications of the injury sustained when he presented to our hospital; he could not survive,” he said.
“Efforts are being made to audit the death of this officer with a post-mortem and a panel to look at all the care given from reception till he died.”
