Committee of Friends, weekend, at the Jubilee Hotel, Effurun, celebrated one of their own, Prof. (Engr.) Akpofure Rim-Rukeh on his well-deserved appointment as Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE), Uvwie local government area of Delta State.

The group applauding Prof. (Engr.) Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, described him as an erudite scholar who has distinguished himself among his contemporaries, saying he will remain a rising star with high vision to take FUPRE to an enviable heights.

Speaking at the reception organised by the Committee of Friends in honour of Prof. Rim-Rukeh, the chairman of the ceremony, Prof. Patrick Igbigbi, said he was overwhelmed not only being in the ceremony but chairing the party, saying that he considers it a great honour.

Also speaking were Mr. Teddy Okumakube, Dr. Israel lmide, Provost, College of Education, Mosogar, Engr. Rex Ohre and others expressed confidence on the unique profile of Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh in the academic world and his recent performance as the state Returning Officer at the just concluded Edo state governorship election.

Responding, Prof. Rim-Rukeh thanked all members of the Committee of Friends for their show of love through this reception organised in his honour, promising them that he will continue to sustain the temple and improves on his worth at all times.
