A former Cross River Governor Donald Duke has said Nigerian youths have been neglected and left with no hopes due to wrong leadership in the country.
Duke, who addressed reporters on Sunday in Calabar, the state capital, was reacting to the destruction of properties across the state on Friday and Saturday by some hoodlums.
The former governor said the act was not normal.

He said the youth felt abandoned and depressed with no leaders to assure them that tomorrow will be better than today, hence they took laws into their hands by destroying private and government properties.
Duke noted that from the videos and pictures he saw on the looting in Calabar, the youth felt neglected and abandoned by the nation’s leaders.
The former governor said the youth felts that leaving their future in the hands of such leaders was hopeless as they had nothing in place for them.
