THE Sokoto State Development Association (SOSDA) has petitioned the National Examinations Council (NECO), seeking clarification on why the state’s 2019/2020 results were not released.

It wondered why results of candidates of other states were released except Sokoto State.

In the petition, jointly issued to reporters in Sokoto at the weekend by Malami Galadanci (Chairman) and Dr Abubakar Alkali(Secretary), requested the examination body to furnish the 2019/20 candidates and other stakeholders, particularly, the association why results of those in question who sat for the examination were yet to be released.

“As stakeholders, parents and concerned indigenes of Sokoto State, our hearts bleed when we hear that candidates who sat for the same exams from other states have their results released while our children are yet to know their fate.”

However, SOSDA Chairman and Secretary appealed to NECO wanted to know if it was due to the state’s failure to pay its dues and if a third party can intervene in the matter with regards the payment.

“As concerned indigenes of Sokoto State, the education of our children is a collective responsibility and where the government fails to act, our duty is to step up action to ensure the needful is done.
