Every parent would love to see their children succeed them in all ramifications and possibly bury them when they transit to the afterworld. The Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Ganiu Kola Egunjobi, didn’t fail to give his late mother, Alhaja Mariam Aduke Egunjobi ‘Iya Eleja,’ as she is fondly called, a befitting burial after her death on Saturday, October 24, after a brief illness.

The graduate of Sociology from the Lagos State University has often bragged that all he achieved in life, was made possible with the support of his mother, who sacrificed proceeds made from her fish business to train him and his sibling in school. According to sources, while mama was alive, they shared a strong mother and son bond.

“Egunjobi can’t do a week without visiting mama at her place. Her death came as a big shock to us all. The will of the giver of life supercedes that of man. We love her but Allah loves her more. “

On Sunday, November 1, Egunjobi gathered dignitaries at the Agege Stadium, to celebrate the 8-day Fidau prayer for his late mother. With guests adorning white and green colours, guests were feted to the very best of local and continental dishes and an endless supply of choice drinks.
