The bursar of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo in Ondo State, Mr. Adejuwon Matthew, has escaped being kidnapped along Water works/Upenmen Road in Owo.
It was gathered that he was in his car on Wednesday when gunmen reportedly fired shots at him.
Polytechnic spokesman Samuel Ojo said Adejuwon left the campus after working hours and headed for Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government.
He said it was along Water works/Upenmen on Owo-Akungba-Akoko Road that Adejuwon ran into herdsmen crossing the highway with their cattle, apparently to stop vehicles on the highway.

Ojo said Adejuwon’s driver managed to manoeuvre before the cattle could cover the entire highway.
He said it was at that moment that gunshots were fired by the supposedly herdsmen, but the bursar escaped being hit by the bullets.
Last week, 16 persons, including traders, were abducted along the Owo-Akure highway.
Men of the Ondo State Police Command rescued 10 and six others were released after payment of N5million ransom.
