Men of the Ondo State Security Network Agency otherwise known as Amotekun Corps have impounded over 50 motorcycles who defied Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s order that motorcycle operators known as Okada should operate within the hours of 6 am to 6 pm.

Akeredolu issued the restriction order to curb rising cases of armed robbery within Akure and environs.

“We have gone round with megaphone on our patrol vehicles to remind them to stop working beyond 6 pm. But most of them were adamant and we have no choice but to start impounding their motorcycles.

“We give them three hours of grace before we begin to move around at about 8 pm daily and yet some of them were still caught operating till 11 pm.”

It would be recalled that robbers riding Okada killed two persons last week and robbed other residents in Akure.

At Sijuwade area, a businessman was killed while an Okada rider was also shot dead at Ologede area along Oda road.
