Three governors make Zamfara by-election committee

The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congrees (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the appointment of Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar to chair the Bakura State House of Assembly By-Election Committee.

A former APC National Vice Chairman (Northeast), Mustapha Salihu, will serve as Secretary of the 20-member Election Committee.

The appointment was announced in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary Yekini Nabena.

Other committee members include Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello (Deputy Chairman); Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammako, Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna, Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA); Dr. George Moghalu and Youth Representative in APC CECPC, Ismail Ahmed.

Others are: House of Representatives Majority Leader Al-Hassan Ado Doguwa, Suleiman Argungu, Ismail Gadaka, Femi Ige, Ben Kalu, Magaji Da’u, Umar Moh’d Bio-Kwara, Joseph Ibanga, Shina Peller, Innocent Egwim and Itoro Otong.

On December 5, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct concurrent legislative by-elections in some states, including the Bakura State Constituency by-election in Zamfara State.
