Group partners stakeholders to end domestic violence

Experts have stressed the need for stakeholders to close ranks to end domestic violence against women and girls across the country.

Speaking at this year’s 16 Days Activism Programme on World Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, Executive Director, Women Advocate Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi said partnering stakeholders from different strata will help in curbing the menace.

While speaking on the need for private sector partnership, the Managing Partnership, Managing Partners, BSquare, Management Consult, Dr. Omopeju Afanu said, it is necessary to ensure the enforcement of laws so that perpetrators of such acts would face the full weight of the law.

Speaking separately, Pastor, Realms of Glory International, Rev. Sam Aiyedogbo and the Secretary General, Council of Imams, Lagos Mainland, Muhammed Mas’ud Imam Karu, said religious leaders cannot afford to be indifferent.
