Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has praised Chairman of the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alhaja Funmilayo Akande-Muhammed, for buidling a three-storey ultra-modern secretariat extension.
The complex was named after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinibu.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also opened 13 new and rehabilitated roads, a library complex and Primary Health Centre delivered by the council.
Sanwo-Olu said the complex would provide a favourable work environment for workers and enhance productivity and service delivery.
He said: “I congratulate and hail Honourable Akande-Muhammed and her team for this achievement which is a product of prudent financial management.
“While a project such as this is laudable, it is important for us to develop policies and initiatives that will support and empower the people, especially our youths, women and the physically-challenged.
“With the recent incidencts witnessed in our state, it has become evident that we need to work rigorously across all levels of government to ensure we do more to invest in our youths and give them the type of governance they will be proud of.”
Akande-Mohammed thanked the governor for supporting the councils in the state to progress.
“Today is the happiest day of my life and it is a dream being fulfilled by my able governor. I have been dreaming of seeing my governor in my council as it has never happened before. Our past governors are always scared of this community. They believed our council is in a notorious area, but the majority of our youths are now changing for the better,” she said.
