The Nigeria Police Force on Monday held a one-day sensitisation lecture for stakeholders on community policing practices.
The lecture, organised by the Force headquarters, Abuja, took place at Bristol Palace Hotel, Kano.
Rtd DIG Hashimu Salihi Argungu, who presented a lead paper, said the aim of the “dialogue” was to provide the participants with an understanding of the concept of community policing.
He said the workshop would highlight the nature of policing practices, to make participants understand the roots and historical review of policing practices.
Police Commissioner Habu Sani, enumerated a number of successes recorded by the Kano Police Command under his leadership as a result of community policing, which he said is a brain work of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said security is his priority, considering the importance of security to the overall development of any society.
