A 25-year old man, Chukwuemeka Nwokolo has been arrested in connection with cultism and other nefarious activities in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The suspect of Umouta village was arrested by the police Anti-Cult Unit in conjuction with Obosi community vigilante following intelligence report.
The Nation gathered that the suspect voluntarily confessed to be a member of the Appache 2-2 Secret Cult Confraternity.
Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed confirmed the arrest, saying a locally made revolver pistol and six live ammunitions were recovered from the suspect following search conducted inside his room.
He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

He said, “In order to stem the tide of cultism and other nefarious activities in the State, the Command Anti-Cult Unit in conjuction with Obosi community vigilante had on the 22/1/2021 arrested one Chukwuemeka Nwokolo alias (small) ‘m’ aged 25years of Umouta village, Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State following intelligence report.
“Exhibits recovered in his possession include one locally made revolver pistol and six live ammunition following search conducted inside his room.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, John Abang, thanked “Ndi Anambra” for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State.
“The CP further reassured the public that the command under his watch will continue to protect lives and property of all citizens in accordance with internationally acceptable best practices.”
