Katsina council chair held for ‘colluding with bandits’

An ex-chair of Jibia council area in Kebbi State Alhaji Haruna Musa Mota has been arrested by police for allegedly colluding with bandits.

Police spokesman Gambo Isa confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect has been charged to court for aiding and abetting banditry and other crimes in the state

He alleged that Mota was incriminated in a leaked video in conversation with bandits.

Gambo said, “Yes, he has been arrested and charged to court for conspiracy, aiding and abetting, and terrorism, but I cannot confirm whether he was the mastermind of Kankara students’ abduction

The Nation recalled that an audio recording went viral recently implicating the local government chairman in a discussion with a bandits’ leader over the recent abduction of Kankara Students.
