The Lagos District Prosecutors Office, a sub unit of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), handled over 1,700 cases at the Magistrates’ Courts last year.
The Director of DPP, Mrs. Olayinka Adeyemi, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement, signed by the Director, Public Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, Kayode Oyekanmi, said the decision to create the District Prosecutor’s Office was an administrative decision and the project had been closely monitored.
