Senate President Ahmad Lawan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki and former Anmabra State Governor Peter Obi have commiserated with Nigerians over the crashed plane.

In separate statements, they expressed their sympathy.

Lawan in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Ola Awoniyi, in Abuja condoled with the families of those killed.

He also commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force and charged the authorities to reinforce their safety measures against future occurrence.

Saraki tweeted: “At this time, my prayers are with the Nigerian Air Force and the families and friends of the military personnel involved in today’s Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane crash.

“I pray for strength for the families.”

Atiku said: “I have just learnt of the crash of a military aircraft near Abuja. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those onboard the ill-fated flight.”

The Nation had earlier reported how the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) confirmed seven of its personnel died in the plane crash that occurred on Sunday morning in Abuja.

Obi described the incident as a tragic loss to the nation. He said: “We, as a nation, are united in prayers for the victims of the Abuja air crash. This is a painful incident for us all. May God grant the victims eternal rest”, Obi prayed.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also commiserated with the Federal Government and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the crash.

The governor sympathised with families, friends and associates of the victims of the unfortunate crash.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his condolence in a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile.

He prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and grant the families they left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses.
