The labour in Ekiti State has given House of Assembly Speaker Funminiyi Afuye a seven-day ultimatum to reinstate 21 workers sacked by the House of Assembly Service Commission.
It threatened that workers would not hesitate to begin indefinite strike from March 10 should the Assembly fail to accede to its directive.
The labour leaders gave the ultimatum in a letter dated March 3, addressed to the Speaker and made available to reporters in Ado-Ekiti yesterday.
The three-page letter was signed by the Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Akinyemi Eunice, Secretary, Trade Union Congress, Kuloogun Lawrence and Secretary of the Joint Negotiating Council, Gbenga Olowoyo.
