The District 404B1 of International Association of Lions Clubs, as part of efforts to create awareness and fight against pediatric cancer, has donated oxygen concentrator and automatic hand dryer equipment to the Cancer Department of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
Presenting the gifts on behalf of the club to LASUTH Chief Medical Director, Prof Adetokunbo Fabanwo, the District 404B1 Nigeria Governor, Mrs Lynda Oluremi Odunmbaku said the support for the hospital was one of the core projects of Lions Club International, which include awareness and fight against pediatric cancer.
She added that Lions Club took upon itself to embark on childhood cancer awareness campaign and fight against it after discovery its deadly nature.
In his welcome address, the Childhood Cancer Committee, Mr Leslie Olanrewaju, said the club has since February 2021 engaged in cancer awareness campaign across the district, donating materials to schools and cancer patients in hospitals, to compliment efforts of governments.
