The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abubakar Audi, has charged oil and gas marketers to ensure their depots are rid of illegal operators.

This was as he warned personnel of the corps against sharp practices that could undermine the efforts of the Federal Government in the oil and gas sector, saying defaulters would be dismissed.

Audi, represented by Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Mohammed Lawal Haruna, said this at the Annual General Meeting of the Private Depot of Oil and Gas Marketers Association of Nigeria (PDOGMAN) in Abuja, where the new National President and Secretary of the Association, Chief Lawrence Kanu, and Alhaji Isa Nakawu, were presented to members.

He stated that the Association plays a critical role in the society, hence the need to purge themselves of bad eggs.

“Don’t allow them to soil your organization. I also want to crave your indulgence that if you see a civil defender that is attending to you illegitimately, please don’t hesitate to let the nearby office of the NSCDC know about it.

“We are very serious about it. Don’t let anyone come and compromise your business. We do not believe in compromise. If you see any redneck approach you for compromise, please report immediately. We don’t to cover them up. What we do is dismissal. Our slogan is ‘take bribe and die’.

“We would not tolerate any officer that would want to compromise on this, especially trying to collaborate with the workers or those in the oil and gas sector to sabotage the efforts of the Federal Government.

“So we need your cooperation and ensure your depots are free of illegal oil bunkerers and ensure you are all into legal business. We are prepared to work with you and collaborate,” he said.

The new president, Chief Lawrence Kanu, promised to move the Association to greater heights.

He said they would strengthen their collaboration with the NSDCS to yield fruitful results, warning that any members involved in any unethical practice would be sanctioned.

Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Bala Mohammed, called for support from members for the new leadership of the Association.
