Sanwo-Olu unveils 450 metres Ariyo-mile-10 bridge in Ojo LGA

Governor Sanwo-Olu yesterday unveiled  Ariyo mile 10- lra in Ojo- Muwo- Tedi bridge phase 1 in Ojo Local Government Area of the state. He referred to the road and bridge as a transforming project.  He said the project will not only save travel time but boost interconnectivity, creating transportation solutions in the state and wealth. He revealed that the state is doing intermodal transportation that will enhance water, road and rail transportation.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Kadiri Hamzat said: “This is a solution to the perennial gridlock on Badagry expressway. We are committed to delivering the rail line from Okokomaiko to Marina by 2023. The roads we are embarking on in Ojo Local Government will inject life to local economy. Indeed we are giving priority to roads leading to jetties. We will also create a loop to  Abule Oshun to ensure that businesses enjoy a new lease of life”. He appealed to shop and transport owners and indeed the public to own the project  and preserve it.

Earlier, Special Adviser to Sanwo- Olu on Works and lnfrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye said the Bridge was conceived to address the challenge of the huge traffic burden and in line with THEMES Agenda of the current administration in the state to provide critical  road infrastructure that will support economic activities.

Responding to the need to bring more infrastructure and development as requested by  Olusegun Akande representing Ojo Constituency 1 in the State Assembly, the governor pledged to construct a General Hospital and also the lje Ododo road  among others to link Abule Oshun and Badagry expressway. He however, reiterated the need for peace in the locality and urged youths to be engaged in meaningful activities. Stressing that there cannot be any meaningful development without peace and orderliness.
